A few people have asked me to elaborate on the sequence of events which led me to deduce the close involvement of Craig Oehlers, Jason “Magz” Namour, Bradley Norrish and Chesley Paul Rafferty in Domain Names Australia, Internet Registrations Australia, Internet Registry and Net Register.

Domain Names Australia (www.domainsaustralia.com.au) and its Director, Chesley Paul Rafferty, have been the subject of numerous auDA Consumer Alerts (http://www.auda.org.au/news/dna/) and now auDA has commenced a class action against the company and its director (http://www.auda.org.au/news/dna/).

It has been suggested that ProWeb Solutions (http://www.proweb.net.au/) in conjunction with Explorer Domains (http://www.explorer.net.au/) are facilitating Domain Names Australia’s business (http://www.auda.org.au/news/dna/) for .au domain name registrations.

With a looming court appearance (http://www.auda.org.au/about/news/2003082703.html) Domain Names Australia needed to register approximately 2000 .net.au domain names which they had convinced people to purchase.

Most of the auDA Accredited Registrars (http://www.auda.org.au/registrars/) knocked back Domain Names Australia’s business.

Explorer Domains took the option of registering approximately 2000 .net.au domains, which is more than double the volume they achieved for their first year (http://www.auda.org.au/docs/ausregistry-y1-0203.pdf). AusRegistry (http://www.ausregistry.com.au/) requires prepayment for
domain names before being able to accept an order, so with a $100,000 prepayment Explorer Domains would have done this with full knowledge of where the business was coming from. This also allowed Domain Names
Australia to go to court saying they had registered all of the domain names in question.

ProWeb Solutions (Craig Oehlers <craig @proweb.net.au>) is a reseller for Explorer Domains
(http://www.auda.org.au/cgi-bin/reseller-search?query=proweb).

I am a Director of Sanctum Internet (www.sanctum.com.au). On Friday September 12th 2003 Craig Oehlers accessed Sanctum Internet’s web site. I was able to deduce that Craig Oehlers’ had accessed the Sanctum website from the web server logs which showed a referring link from
Craig Oehlers’ webmail application (http://www.proweb.net.au:2095/craig+proweb.net.au/neomail.pl? .. etc
..).

Following this access Craig Oehlers, using the same Internet connection (IP address: 202.72.174.233) and web browser, attempted to register the following domain names on the Sanctum Internet web site:

These personal attacks on my character by Craig Oehlers are both offensive and defamatory. I have not ruled out taking further action regarding Craig Oehlers’ derogatory remarks.

Investigating further I discovered a web server running on Craig Oehlers’ Internet connection (http:///202.72.174.233/contact.html). The web server had a domain name registration web site titled “Registry Group” and displayed a contact email address of “support@iregistrations.com”. The web site has since been taken down, however it is mirrored here: http://domainwatch.org/images/202.72.174.233/contact.html.

The domain name iregistrations.com is registered to a Peter Jacobs of Level 2, 297 Hay St, East Perth, WA 6004.

A mailing list thread discussing “THE TRUTH ABOUT THE .US REGISTRANT REQUIREMENTS”
(http://lists.neustar.biz/pipermail/policy-forum/2003-June/000072.html) links Jason Namour, Bradley Norrish, iregistrations.com and Peter Jacobs.

Two of Jason “Magz” Namour’s email addresses (<jason @di.com.au> and <jnamour @ebusiness.net.au>) use domain names registered to Bradley Norrish. On the DNS mailing list Jason Namour describes himself as a
“freelance web developer” that is “not taking sides” in reference to Domain Names Australia. Jason Namour’s web site domain name “perthbands.com” is registered to Bradley Norrish’s company Internet Registrations Australia. The details for Jason Namour from an AUNIC database entry (http://www.aunic.net/cgi-bin/whois.aunic?JN628-AU) are 163 Main St, Osborne Park, WA 6017 (08) 9443 6822.

Bradley Norrish’s details from the WhitePages are 163 Main St Osborne Park 6017 (08) 9443 6822, identical to Jason Namour’s details above.

Chesley Paul Rafferty’s email address (<ches @di.com.au>) uses a domain name registered to Bradley Norrish. Chesley.biz is registered to a Chesley Paul Rafferty of Level 2, 297 Hay St, East Perth, WA 6004, identical address details to the iregistrations.com registration details. Rafferty.id.au is registered to Chesley Paul Rafferty’s company Internet Registry with the registrant contact listed as Craig Oehlers
<c .oehlers@internetregistry.com.au>.

Craig Oehlers, Jason Namour, Bradley Norrish and Chesley Paul Rafferty all share physical and Internet addresses which suggests that they might be all running Domain Names Australia (www.domainsaustralia.com.au), Internet Registrations Australia (www.registrations.com.au), Internet Registry (www.internetregistry.com.au) and Net Register.
